Sandown Racing Tips for July 1 – Lightly raced galloper is perfectly placed in Race 3

Here are our best bets from the meeting, which also feature in our midweek racing tips.

Miss Revealing is a solid player in Race 2. The Greg Eurell-trained galloper is winless in her five runs this time in but has placed in three. She was 3rd in the Mornington Guineas (1600m) three starts back then was runner-up in a BenchMark 78 race over the 1400m on the Hillside circuit before placing 8th at Flemington last time. The daughter of Swear has gone more than eight lengths faster than standard benchmark at her past two start and drops sharply in grade. She gets the perfect trail from barrier 4 and with Luke Cartwright in the saddle, she should be hard to beat at the business end. 

Sticking with Perfect Ten in Race 3. The lightly raced five-year-old is in career best form and should relish the Soft to Heavy conditions. She was too good at Sale when resuming before an unlucky runner-up at Caulfield over the 1500m. At her most recent start, she edged past Sweet Jasmine over the 1600m on the Hillside with those two gapping the likes of the 4th horse, Belle Savoir, who has since taken out a BM78 at Caulfield. Perfect Ten sticks to the mile, which seems to be her go, and should land with cover just behind the leading pair. 

Going with another to make it back to back wins and it is Empress Of The Sun that cna back up what was a strong win a month ago. The progressive stayer from the Ciaron Maher stable was able to sit outside the leader in the small field before putting her foot down to go a very healthy 11.7 lengths faster than standard over the 2400m at Lakeside. That figure is eight lengths better than the next best figures of any runner in this race. The wetter the better for the daughter of Harbinger, who gets the 3kg claim for the Tasmanian jockey, Jabez Johnstone, who strikes at 27% for the stable, providing a 50% profit on investment.
