Race 4: No.4 Tiger Tank
The Neville Parnham-trained galloper is in good touch this time in and looks well placed here to record his second career win in this event.
Last start, the Rommel gelding came off an impressive first-up Maiden win when he finished fourth in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1200m.
Sitting second (outside the leader) most of the way before taking over soon after straightening where he boxed on strongly but couldn’t hold out the challenges, finishing just behind the placegetters that day.
Dropping back to the 1000m here, he draws ideally in gate two and maps to settle near the speed with Laqdar Ramoly retaining the ride.
Already a winner over the 1000m and fitter for two runs back, the three-year-old looks in the mix for another win in this contest.
Race 5: No.3 Go Go Grommet
The Team Gangemi-trained galloper has been in good form this preparation and down in weight here, looks a winning chance at odds in this event.
Last start, the Maschino gelding came off a good win when he was a little disappointing, finishing down the track in a No Metro Wins-Last Year Hcp, here over 1000m.
Trapped wide to the turn, he scouted even wider on straightening and just ran out of juice in the run home, but wasn’t disgraced, beaten 2.5 lengths on the line.
Drawn gate five here, he maps to settle near mid-field with cover and has Zephen Johnston-Porter returning after enjoying success with the gelding previously.
At his peak after four starts back, the six-year-old can bounce back here and looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 7: No.8 Esta Mirando
Team Williams saddle-up Esta Mirando here who is in great touch and ticks enough boxes here to suggest she can claim another win in this event.
Last start, the Irish-bred filly bounced back from a disappointing second-up effort when she beat all but one home in a Three-Year-Old Hcp over 1400m at Pinjarra on the Scarpside circuit.
With William Pike aboard, she jumped from barrier eight and settled back in the field before scouting wide on the turn and finishing down the centre of the track, arrived one bound too late, taking home the silver medal for the race.
The step-up to the 1650m trip here looks ideal for her now where she draws wide again in gate 11 and maps to settle back in the field with Pike at the helm, who has ridden her to all three career wins to date.
The three-year-old drops 3kgs for this assignment and already a winner at the track, looks the testing material in this contest.
