Race 3: No.3 High Dandy
The Team Munce-trained galloper has returned in great touch and looks ideally placed here for back-to-back success in this event.
Having his first start for the stable, the Ace High gelding resumed after 22 weeks off the scene and returned with a bang as he took out an Open Hcp over 1400m at the Gold Coast.
On a Heavy 8 that day, he settled fourth in the small field before coming off heels and in the run home proved too strong with Courtney Bellamy in the saddle.
Perfectly drawn, he gets the gun-run from gate one here and maps to be box-seating on settling with Bellamy retaining the ride for this assignment.
Down in grade, boasting success on wet tracks previously and already a two-time winner when second-up, he looks the testing material in this contest.
Race 7: No.2 Arisphere
Tony Gollan saddles-up Arisphere here who is in good touch after three starts back and now looks ready to win.
Last start, the Exosphere mare made it back-to-back runner-up prizes when she beat all but one to the line in a Class 6 Hcp over 1000m at the Gold Coast.
Trying to lead all the way, Emily Lang settled her on the fence, showing them the way, then in the run home, fought on gamely but was beaten by one better on the day.
Well drawn here in gate three, she maps to settle near the speed with Leah Martyn as the new pilot as she drops in grade, facing BM70 opposition here.
At her peak and already a two-time winner at the track and trip, she looks a major player in this contest.
Race 8: No.8 Empress Of Japan
The Michael Freedman-trained galloper has done everything but win this time in and will be looking for a change of luck in this event.
Last start, the Savabeel mare made it a hat-trick of minor placings when she finished third in a BM65 over 1660m at Doomben.
Jace McMurray settled her mid-field early before scouting wide on the turn, then in the run home, finished off nicely, doing her best work late, arriving in time to grab the minor money in the race.
Stepping-up to 1800m here, the mare draws wide in gate ten where she maps to cross and settle near mid-field with Daniel Moor taking the reins for this assignment.
Now at her peak with four runs under her belt, a trouble-free run here should see her there at the finish in this contest.
