Rosehill racing takes place on Saturday, February 22, with a 10-race program set down for Rosehill racetrack.

The Chris Waller-trained Step Aside is third-up here and ticks the boxes that suggest he will be a major player in the outcome of this event.

Last start, the Redwood gelding bounced back after losing his rider (mid-race) when resuming and made the podium when finishing third in a BM78, here over 1350m.

Settling back in the field, he crossed off heels and ran home strongly to arrive in time and claim the minor prize in the race.

Meeting similar company here, Waller fits the blinkers for the first time and gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to settle on the fence in the first half-dozen.

Zac Lloyd takes the reins for this assignment where the five-year-old is already a winner when third-up and has had success at the track and distance.

A trouble-free run here should see him hard to hold out in this contest.

Race 9: No.11 Headley Grange

The Joe Pride-trained Headley Grange is high-flying this time in and at the weights here, he looks a winning chance in this event.

Last start, the Exosphere gelding was shooting for the hat-trick when he beat all but one home in Open company over 1600m at Randwick.

Settling fifth on the fence, Tyler Schiller gave him every chance as he ran home strongly but was unable to match it with the winner (Highlights) on the day.

They clash again here where the Pride galloper meets him better at the weights and sports the blinkers for the first time.

Four-straight top-two finishes this preparation is good form to bring into this contest and with Reece Jones as the new pilot, the four-year-old should prove hard to beat here.

Race 10: No.10 The Black Cloud

Another from the Pride stable is The Black Cloud who is second-up here and boasting a strong association with jockey Jay Ford, looks well placed here for a win in this event.

Last start, the Shamus Award mare resumed off a lengthy 22-week break when she beat all but one to the line in a BM94 over the 1000m sprint at Randwick.

The mare has good early gate speed and looks to settle in the first half-dozen from barrier eight with regular rider Jay Ford remaining aboard.

Already a winner when second-up, the four-year-old has saluted four times from her nine career starts to date and carrying just 1kg over the limit here, looks a strong lightweight chance at victory in this contest.
