Ascot racing takes place on Saturday, February 22, with a 9-race program set down for Ascot racetrack.

The Simon Miller-trained Rocking Gem is in top-shelf form this time in and looks ideally placed here to ring up career win number five in this event.

Last start, the Awesome Rock mare made it three wins from her four starts this preparation when she took out a One Metro Win event over 1000m at Pinjarra.

She is on a seven-day back-up here and won here first two starts this campaign on the Ascot track.

She draws well in gate five here and maps to settle mid-field with cover.

Regular rider Holly Watson remains in the saddle, having already ridden the mare to all four career wins to date.

At her peak for this, she looks the testing material in this contest.

Race 5: No.4 Axeman’s Jazz

Team Williams saddle-up Axeman’s Jazz here who is second-up and looking the goods for the hat-trick in this event.

Just the one start last preparation saw the Dundeel gelding destroy his rivals over 1400m at Northam, after which he spent the next 16 months in the paddock.

Fresh off that break, he franked that Northam win by going back-to-back, here in another 1400m event with Clint Johnston-Porter aboard for the first time.

Stepping up to the mile trip here, he drops in weight and has Johnston-Porter sticking with him for this assignment.

Nicely drawn in gate five, he maps to enjoy a sit better than mid-field and with a trouble-free run here, he can claim another victory.

Race 8: No.6 Bonjoy

The Jason Miller-trained Bonjoy has already stamped herself a class galloper and looks the best of the day in this event.

Last start, the Maschino mare landed her eleventh career win from 18 starts when she made it a hat-trick by taking out a BM84, here over the 1600m.

Regular rider Clint Johnston-Porter was aboard for his ninth win on the mare as she arrived in time to collect the major prize in the event.

She steps up to the 1800m for the first time and in this Listed event where she is already a winner in this company.

From gate six, she maps to settle mid-field with cover and boasting seven wins at Ascot, she can declare herself a track specialist.

Well weighted (55.5kgs) for the contest, a clear run to the line should see her very hard to hold out here.
