Race 2: No.6 Favour The Bold
The Rod Northam-trained galloper is three starts into this campaign and looks better placed in this company to bounce back and take out this event.
Last start, the Brutal gelding finished mid-field in a Class 3 Hcp over 1450m at Muswellbrook with Reece Jones aboard.
He settled back in the field before passing a few in the run home before finishing seventh in the 14-strong field, beaten three lengths on the line.
Today he gets all the favours from gate one where he maps to be box-seating on settling with Jones steering the ship again.
Fourth-up and at his peak today, he looks a real winning chance in this contest.
Race 5: No.3 Iowna Benz
The Luke Pepper-trained galloper is high-flying this time in and looks set to make it three-straight in this event.
Last start, the Winning Rupert mare came off a good win at Wagga when she franked that effort by taking out an Open Hcp over 1000m at Canberra.
Jean Van Overmeire had her parked outside the leader in a slowly-run affair before taking over soon after straightening and fought off all challenges to claim the gold medal for the race.
From gate seven today, she maps to push forward and cross to settle near the speed with Mikayla Weir as the new pilot.
In career-best form, the four-year-old looks every chance of bringing up the hat-trick in this contest.
Race 7: No.2 Sarrismo
Tom Charlton saddles-up Sarrismo here who is in top-shelf form and third-up today, looks set for the hat-trick in this event.
Last start, the I Am Invincible gelding came off a BM72 win at Warwick Farm when he headed north of the border and franked that win by taking out a BM78 over 1600m at Doomben.
Ben Thompson had him in his usual role of playmaker although three-wide for the first 800m of the race before fighting strongly in the run home to ward off the challenges and take the big prize by half a length on the line.
Coming back to country class racing today, he gets the gun-run from gate one and has the services of Andrew Adkins in the saddle for this assignment.
The resume shows eight starts for eight podium finishes to date and in this easier affair, he looks the one to beat in this contest.
