The locally-trained galloper is in great touch of late and ticks all the boxes that suggest another home-track win is possible in this event.
Last start, the Stratosphere mare came off a BM76 win on this track when she finished a close-up third in a BM78, here over 1568m.
Jason Holder settled him third where he travelled three-deep to the turn, then in the run home chased the leader all the way but came up short, nutted-out of second money right on the line.
Drawn in gate seven here, he maps to cross and settle in the first half-dozen with Holder retaining the ride for this assignment.
Already a two-time winner at the track and distance, a trouble-free run here can see him hard to hold out in this contest.
Race 6: No.5 Tobikko
Phillip Stokes saddles-up Tobikko here who is three starts into this campaign and now looks ready to win.
Last start, the Hellbent gelding beat all but one home in a BM62 Hcp, here over 1000m.
He settled mid-field on the fence spotting the leaders six lengths to the turn before running on strongly but gave the leader too much start and had to settle for second prize, beaten a neck on the line.
Ideally drawn in gate three here, he maps to settle near mid-field with Harry Grace remaining aboard for this assignment.
Fourth-up and at his peak, the three-year-old gets his chance to turn the tables here and should prove hard to beat in this contest.
Race 9: No.4 The Cosmic One
The Travis Doudle-trained galloper is second-up here and looks well placed for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Cosmic Force gelding resumed after ten months off the scene and impressed when taking out Class 1 Hcp over 1200m at Balaklava.
Lumping 62kgs, he drew gate one and led from barrier to box, destroying his opposition as he crossed the line 2.5 lengths clear in the end.
Ideally drawn in gate two here, he maps to settle on the speed again as he steps-up to BM64 grade with Ben Price in the saddle again.
Fitter for that first-up run and already a winner when second-up, he looks the one to beat again in this contest.
