Race 4: No.12 Jemoma Alpilage
The Kevin Kemp-trained galloper is unbeaten in two starts this preparation and ticks enough boxes here to suggest the hat-trick is on the cards in this event.
Last start, the Lean Mean Machine mare stepped-up sharply in grade and still got the job done when she took out a BM70, here over 1650m.
Unwanted in the market, the $31 chance settled back in the field before working into the race nearing the turn, the scouting wide on straightening, she finished strongly to grab the lead inside the final 100m and held off the challenges to grab the cash.
Stepping-up further in grade here, the mare takes on BM78 company and drops 2kgs for this assignment with regular rider Taylor Marshall retaining the ride.
Drawn out in gate 11, she maps to settle in the back-half of the field and already a winner when third-up, the four-year-old looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 5: No.3 Larado
Matt Hoysted saddles-up Larado here who resumes off a five-month absence and looks set to claim victory on fresh legs in this event.
Last start, the Toronado gelding ended his last preparation by finishing fourth in a BM78 over 1000m at Eagle Farm.
Stepping-up from a BM70 win, he found the competition just a little too strong on the day, finishing 4.5 lengths from the winner.
He has trialled twice since resuming work, winning his most recent by 3.5 lengths on this track.
From barrier eight, speed maps have him settling back in the field with Daniel Moor in the irons again, in search of his third win on the gelding.
Unbeaten when first-up, a clear run to the line should see him hard to hold out in this contest.
Race 8: No.16 Rough Cause
The Tony Gollan-trained galloper has impressed at his first two starts and looks set to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Worthy Cause gelding came off his debut Maiden win when he beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1350m.
From the outside gate, Emily Lang had him leading on settling and in the run home, found the step-up in distance a little testing where he was run down in the final stages, beaten less than a length on the line.
From gate 10, he maps to cross and settle near the speed with Lang remaining aboard for this assignment.
Even fitter for those two runs, he drops 7.5kgs here and with a trouble-free run, looks every chance of figuring in the finish of this contest.
