We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Sha Tin racetrack.

Race 5: No.6 Raging Warrior

The David Hall-trained galloper has his second race start tonight and looks well placed to claim victory in this event.

Last start, the Lucky Vega gelding made his racing debut and impressed when finishing third in Class 4, here over 1200m on the all-weather circuit.

From the outside gate (12), James Orman eased him back to the tail of the field on settling where he remained until the home turn, then on straightening, still last and eights from the leader, he put in the big ones all the way home, arriving in time to grab the minor prize in an eye-catching performance.

Drawn much better here, he jumps from gate five and is expected to settle back in the field again with Orman retaining the ride for this assignment.

Fitter for that debut effort and meeting similar company here on the same surface, he looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.

Race 7: No.2 Mega Captain

The Dennis Yip-trained galloper is second-up tonight and ticks enough boxes here to suggest he can figure in the finish of this event.

Last start, the All Too Hard gelding resumed off a 17-week break when he finished fourth in a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1200m on the all-weather circuit.

From gate four, Zac Purton settled him mid-field but was trapped three-wide to the turn, then in the run home finished strongly and after covering so much extra ground, wasn’t disgraced when finishing just behind the placegetters.

He draws gate six tonight and maps to settle mid-field or better and with Purton unavailable, Vince Ho is legged aboard for his first ride on the gelding.

Already a track and distance winner and fitter for that first-up effort, the four-year-old looks in the mix for victory in this contest.

Race 9: No.11 Nezha

David Hall saddles-up Nezha here who is second-up tonight and has the resume to suggest he will take beating in this event.

Last start, the Belardo gelding was fresh off the season break and did well to beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp over 1650m, here on the all-weather circuit.

Drawn out in barrier eight, James Orman eased him back and settled last of the 11 runners, a dozen lengths off the lead, then in the run to the turn, gradually improved his position to be mid-field, then crossing heels, he found the found inside the final 200m but his condition gave out and with a 1.5kg weight advantage as well, All Round Winner finished best to grab the gold medal near the line.

From gate five here, he maps to settle in the back-half of the field with Matthew Poon returning for his sixth ride on the gelding.

Already a winner when second-up and a track and distance winner as well, he clashes with All Round Winner again but meets him 1.5kgs better at the weights and with a better draw as well, looks the one to beat in this contest.
