Race 1: No.3 One Last Resort
The Team Casey-trained galloper is second-up here and did enough when fresh to suggest he can break through for his first win in this event.
Last start, the Tassort gelding resumed after six months in the paddock when he beat all but one home in a set-weights Maiden over 1100m at Northam.
Natika Riordan had him settled fourth in the 11-strong field to the turn before tracking wide then straightening as the widest runner where he ran home strongly but lacking race fitness, couldn’t reel in the leader, beaten just a long neck on the line.
Fitter for that run back, he draws well in gate four and maps to settle just behind the speed with William Pike as the new pilot.
Finishing runner-up at his only start on this track, the 1200m looks ideal for the three-year-old here and with a trouble-free run, he should prove very hard to beat in this contest.
Race 3: No.4 She’s A Splinter
The Josh Brown-trained galloper is second-up here and ticks enough boxes to suggest she can play a major role in the outcome of this event.
Last start, the Splintex filly was fresh off a 17-week spell when she finished third in a Class 1 Hcp over 1300m at Northam.
Last out of the gates, Chris Parnham allowed her to settle there to the turn before tracking wide, then spotting them five lengths, ran home strongly but her condition gave out and she had to settle for the minor prize on the day.
Drawn the outside gate here, she maps to settle back in the field again and after steering her to that maiden win last preparation, William Pike returns to steer the ship for this assignment.
Already a winner when second-up and fitter for that first-up effort, the three-year-old has strong claims for victory in this contest.
Race 5: No.4 Reginetta
Stephanie Bakranich saddles-up Reginetta here who is unbeaten in two starts and looks well placed here fore the hat-trick in this event.
Last start, the Playing God mare came off her maiden win at Northam when she lined-up in an 1100m Handicap at Ascot and proved too good again with Shaun O'Donnell aboard on both occasions.
Box-seating on settling, the mare held her ground to the turn before pushing up inside the leader and once securing that run, hit the line strongly to finish best and land the bacon on the day.
Ideally drawn here in gate three, she maps to settle just behind the speed with Jason Whiting as the new pilot.
Facing Class 3 company here, the four-year-old hasn’t put a foot wrong so far and with a clear run to the line, she looks a genuine winning chance again in this contest.
