Race 1: No.8 Flaressence
The Robert Heathcote-trained galloper is off to a flying start on the track and looks well placed here to take it even further in this event.
Last start, the Home Affairs filly came off a big maiden win at the Sunshine Coast when she took on her own age group and finished third, here over the 1000m sprint.
Showing plenty of early speed, Emily Pozman had her leading on settling to the turn, then in the run home found plenty in reserve and pinched a big break before being run down late by one better and then nosed out of second prize on the line as well.
Ideally drawn here in gate two, she maps to be on the speed again with Taylor Marshall as the new pilot for this assignment.
Yet to miss a podium finish in four starts to date and at her peak now, the three-year-old could prove hard to run down in this contest.
Race 5: No.2 Prochester
Jack Bruce saddles-up Prochester here who is high-flying this time in and looks a genuine chance of bringing up the hat-trick in this event.
Last start, the Proisir gelding made it back-to-back successes when he took out a BM70 Hcp over 1800m at the Sunshine Coast.
Sent out a white-hot $1.60 favourite, Ben Thompson had him box-seating on settling to the turn before coming off heels and soon after straightening, took control of the race and went on to score comfortably in the end.
Drawn gate six here, he maps to cross and settle mid-field or better with Taylor Marshall on board for the first time.
Fourth-up and at his peak here, the five-year-old is already a track and trip winner and should prove hard to beat in this contest.
Race 6: No.6 Exceed Speed
The Tony Gollan-trained galloper is second-up here and ticks enough boxes to suggest he is a strong contender for the big prize in this event.
Last start, the Exceed And Excel gelding resumed after 18 weeks off the scene and did well to finish third in a Class 5 Hcp over 1200m at Ipswich.
Ryan Maloney settled him back in the field to the turn, then sticking to the fence, secured a rails-run and improved gradually before running out of puff, but stuck on well to grab the minor prize in the race.
Coming off an eight-week let-up here, he draws well in gate four and maps to settle near mid-field with cover and after riding his to victory twice previously, Ben Thompson returns to take the reins for this assignment.
Placed twice when second-up and already a winner at the track, the six-year-old looks a major player in this contest.
