Race 4: No.3 Oui Oui Ma Cherie
The Stuart Gower-trained galloper is second-up here and dropping back from city class racing, looks better placed in this company and should give a bold sight in this event.
Last start, the Yes Yes Yes mare resumed after 22 weeks off the scene and in need of the run, finished mid-field in a Class 2 Hcp over 1200m at Morphettville.
Rose Hammond settled her back in the field to the turn before scouting wide then in the run home she managed to pass a few and did hit the line well, while beaten 3.5 lengths on the post.
Drawn out in gate 10 here, she maps to settle near the tail again with Caitlin Jones taking over as the new pilot.
The mare is up in weight here but is dropping back to country racing where she is a track and trip winner on this track.
Fitter for that first-up run and up to a more suitable 1400m trip, the four-year-old can figure in the finish of this contest.
Race 6: No.9 Shalhavmusik
The Grant Young-trained galloper has run herself into form of late and looks well up to winning this event.
Last start, the Ringerdingding mare scored her first win for this campaign when she took out a BM56 over 1516m at Gawler.
From gate 10 (of 12), Brooke King did well to have the mare settle fourth, one off the fence to the turn, before taking over soon after straightening, then fended off the late challenges to claim victory by almost a length on the line.
This looks no harder and from gate five, she maps to settle mid-field or better with Will Price returning for his fourth ride on the mare.
Already a winner at the track and distance, the five-year-old looks every chance of going back-to-back in this contest.
Race 7: No.2 Super Choice
Stuart Gower saddles-up Super Choice here who is three starts into this preparation and should now be ready to produce his best in this event.
Last start, the Extreme Choice gelding wasn’t too far away when finishing fourth in a Class 1 Hcp over 1100m at Gawler.
Rose Hammond settled him back in the field to the turn before sticking to the fence, he finally secured a rails-run where he never stopped chasing and finished just behind the placegetters, beaten less than two lengths on the line.
From gate seven, he maps to settle mid-field or better with Caitlin Jones as the new pilot for this assignment.
This looks a little easier and fourth-up here, he should be at his peak and with a trouble-free run the four-year-old should be there at the finish of this contest.
