Newcastle Racing Tips for October 2 - I Am A Winner is set to bounce back

Race 2: No.2 My Proclama
The Joe Pride-trained galloper is off to a solid start with three-straight podium finishes and looks well placed here to break through today.
Last start, the Telperion mare tried to lead all the way but ran out of gas over the final stages and had to settle for third prize in a 1300m Maiden at Hawkesbury with Alysha Collett aboard.
Today she races on her first dry turf track with Jay Ford at the helm and drops back to the 1200m trip.
The five-year-old draws gate seven today, giving Ford the option to cross and find a sit behind others keen to lead in the 13-strong field.
The stable fit the blinkers for the first time here and at her peak after three runs in, she looks a solid each-way chance in this contest.
Race 5: No.6 I Am A Winner
The Team Freedman-trained galloper is three starts into this preparation now and looks well placed here to ring-up his second career win in this event.
Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding copped more checks than a London bank on a busy day and did well to finish fourth in a BM64 over 1100m at Hawkesbury.
Hampered and tightened for room soon after the start, Jason Collett settled him just behind the speed before turning for home where he pushed forward and was bumped badly, losing his balance and momentum before steadying and still finished off strongly, beaten just three lengths in the end.
From gate four today, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Collett in the saddle again.
Already a winner at the track and distance, if he can manage to avoid any further bad luck, he looks the one to beat in this contest.
Race 6: No.14 Sweet Bubbles
The Gosford-based galloper is in good touch of late and seeing the Newcastle track for the first time today, looks well placed for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Prized Icon mare was fourth-up and found her mojo when she took out a BM58 over 1750m at Muswellbrook.
After settling back in the small field of seven, Aaron Bullock eased her wide on the turn where she finished too strong for them, arriving in time to claim the major prize.
At her peak today, she draws ideally in gate two and maps to settle near mid-field with Andrew Adkins as the new pilot.
Taking on BM64 opposition here, she drops sharply in weight, coming in on the limit with just 55kgs to carry and with a trouble-free run here, she looks a leading contender for the gold medal in this contest.
Race 7: No.10 Dusty Bay
Tracey Bartley saddles-up Dusty Bay here who is third-up and should be ready to strike in this event.
Last start, the Sandbar gelding was second-up and improved enough from his first-up effort to grab third prize in a Class 1 Midway Hcp over 1200m at Kembla Grange.
Kerrin McEvoy had him settled one out, one back before crossing heels in the run home where he was impeded and only clear in the final 100m, still finishing strongly, beaten just 1.5 lengths on the line.
Nicely drawn in gate four today, he maps to settle just behind the speed (with cover) and has Jay Ford returning for his second ride on the gelding.
Already a winner on dry tracks, conditions are ideal for him and fitter for two runs back, he can give this contest a real shake today.
