Murray Bridge racing takes place on Wednesday, September 2 with a 9-race program set down for the Murray Bridge racetrack.

The Paul Preusker-trained galloper has been in good touch of late and tick enough boxes to be given a great chance to grab a win in this event.

Last start, the Impending gelding found the podium for the seventh time when he beat all but one home in a BM56 Hcp over 2000m at Warracknabeal.

Unable to go the early pace, he settled back in the field before taking the turn as the widest runner and did a mighty job to finish as well as he did, arriving in time to grab the silver medal, beaten just half a length on the line.

From gate seven, he maps to settle back in the field with Shayleigh Ingelse back to ride again after steering him to victory here three starts back.

In career-best form this time in, a trouble-free run here can see him there at the finish of this contest.

Race 8: No.5 Territorian

Sarah Rutton saddles-up Territorian here who has found his mojo this campaign and looks well placed to go on with it in this event.

Last start, the Territories gelding brought-up his second career win when he took out a BM56, here over 1400m.

On a Heavy 8 that day, he drew wide in gate 10 with Jacob Opperman settling him back near the tail of the field and caught deep to the turn before tracking even wider then as the widest runner, still found another gear and stormed home to clobber the 12-strong field, crossing the line almost four lengths clear in the end.

Meeting similar company here, he draws wide again in gate nine and maps to settle near mid-field with cover in the big field of 14.

Opperman has the reins again and now a track and distance winner, he looks set for a déjà vu performance in this contest.

Race 9: No.5 Garcon Renard

The Team Blanch-trained galloper is three starts into this preparation and with a major gear change and carrying less weight, looks a genuine winning chance in this event.

Last start, the Foxwedge gelding left the gates as the $3.90 favourite when he finished fourth in a BM56 over 1200m at Morphettville.

Up against metro grade runners, he drew wide in gate 10 (of 11) where Jason Holder settled him back in the field to the turn where he was held up until securing clean air half way home where he finished off strongly to finish just behind the placegetters in the race.

Resuming from a seven-week let-up here, he gets the gun-run from gate one where he maps to settle near mid-field on the fence and has Holder in the saddle again.

The stable fit the tongue tie here for the first time and at his peak, the five-year-old can figure in the finish of this contest.
