Last start, the Snitzel mare resumed after 11 weeks off the scene and caught the eye when beating all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1400m at the Sunshine Coast.
She settled back in the field to the turn before tracking wide on straightening, then down the centre of the track, she stormed home to grab second prize, beaten just half a length on the line.
From gate seven here, she maps to settle back in the field with Taylor Marshall as the new pilot.
Already a winner when second-up and placed here over the trip, the five-year-old looks set to give this contest a real shake.
Race 6: No.3 Gospel Girl
The Tony Gollan-trained galloper is second-up today and down in weight, looks well placed to improve even further in this event.
Last start, the Epaulette mare resumed after five months in the paddock and wasn’t disgraced when finishing third in a BM78 over 1200m at Doomben.
Bella Youngberry settled her fourth one off the fence before tracking wide on the turn, then in the run home, hit the line strongly but had to settle for minor prize in the end.
From gate six, she maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Youngberry steering the ship again.
Already a winner when second-up, the six-year-old drops in weight here and fitter for that first-up run, looks in the mix for a bold showing in this contest.
Race 7: No.5 Saveur
Chris Waller saddles-up Saveur here who is second-up and every chance of taking out this event.
Last start, the Ole Kirk mare resumed after 18 weeks in the paddock and in need of the run, finished fifth in a BM65, here over 1350m.
Emily Lang settled her mid-field and trapped wide to the turn before tracking wider and after a hard run to that point, still boxed on strongly to finish less than two lengths from the winner.
Drawn well here in gate four, she maps to settle better than mid-field with cover and has Jake Bayliss as the new pilot.
A runner-up here previously and has placed when second-up as well, the four-year-old looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
