Eagle Farm Blackbookers and horses to follow from August 29

The Jack Bruce-trained galloper was second-up on Saturday and impressed when coming from back in the field to grab third prize in this event.

Always travelling near the tail, the mare tracked wide on the turn and despite being last at the 200m mark, really knuckled down from there and hit the line strongly to grab that minor prize.

The four-year-old is lightly raced, having just five starts under her belt now, but showed enough here to suggest a third win is not far away.

The Tony Gollan-trained mare won just her second start in 18 months on Saturday but did it in style with Ben Thompson aboard.

Settling mid-field. One off the fence, she tracked them into the home straight before weaving a passage through and with clean air in front of her, finished over the top of them and crossed the line 1.5 lengths clear in the end. 

A strong effort from a horse with just a maiden win on her resume and second-up off a six-month absence. The four-year-old just may have something more to offer this preparation so stick with her for now.

The Robert Heathcote-trained galloper was second-up on Saturday and put in the eye-catching performance of the day when finishing sixth in this event.

Slowly away, the five-year-old ended up settling last, six lengths behind the pack (and more than 12 lengths from the leader) and could still see them all on the home turn before finding plenty in the run home to finish just five lengths from the winner, beating four home in the process.

Best results have come over 1300m-1400m and already a winner when third-up, it should pay to follow the five-year-old for a couple more yet.
