The Andrew Gluyas-trained Goldrush Guru is unbeaten in two starts this time in and looks every chance of landing the hat-trick in the event.
Last start, the American Pharoah colt came off a first-up Maiden win, here over 1250m when he franked that effort by stepping up sharply in grade where he clobbered a Class 2 field, winning that contest by 1.5 lengths also at the Morphettville track.
Caitlin Jones was aboard for both victories and sticks with the colt for this assignment.
Stepping up in distance here, he has the outside gate in the seven-horse field where he maps to settle back looking for a trail.
Winning form is good form and this colt has a strong finish on him and even fitter for two runs back, he should prove very hard to hold out in this contest.
Race 6: No.7 Aviatress
The Team Jolly-trained Aviatress is fourth-up here and should now be ready to produce her best in this event.
Last start, the Smart Missile mare made the trip across the border where she took on the Group 3 Cockram Stakes at Caulfield and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fourth (beaten a length) in the 1200m contest.
She drops sharply in grade here with Jake Toeroek returning for the challenge, having steered her to all three career victories to date.
She does no early work from gate two and maps to settle mid-field with cover.
Three starts in, she should be at her peak for this and with a clear run to the line, should prove hard to hold out.
Race 7: No.3 Brave Star
The Phillip Stokes-trained Brave Star is in consistent form this preparation and ticking all the boxes here, looks right up this challenge.
Last start, the seven-year-old gelding beat all but one home in a BM70, here over 1536m.
Hampered in the run home she still hit the line strongly beaten a whisker on the line with Rochelle Milnes in the saddle.
From barrier eight, he maps to settle better than mid-field with cover and has Lachlan Neindorf steering the ship for this assignment.
The stats are in his favour showing he is already a track and distance winner and has saluted on dry ground, so conditions here look ideal for him.
On a seven-day back-up here, he looks right in the mix for victory in this contest.
Race 8: No.8 Longer Route
Mick Huxtable saddles-up Longer Route here who is in top-shelf form this preparation and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories in this event.
Last start, the Needs Further gelding came off a first-up second at Murray Bridge where he went one better, beating home a BM62 field, here over 1536m.
Samuel Payne was aboard for his six ride on the gelding and rung his second win with him as well.
He draws nicely in gate four here and maps to be leading them on settling.
He takes on similar company here with Payne remaining in the saddle.
If he gets his way up front and left alone to dictate the race, they should find it hard to run him down again.
