Caulfield Racing Tips for September 21 - Another Wil to be too good for them in the Testa Rossa Stakes

We have the best bets picked out from across the day with value selections for Caulfield Racecourse.

I think Craig can run a big race here but Another Wil shapes as the one. The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper has won six of nine and could not have been much more impressive with the hefty impost of 60.5kg from barrier 13 when first up, travelling wide before producing the best splits of the meeting to get up ahead of Here To Shock in the last stride. He drops 2kg on that run and draws the inside this time around. Jamie Kah can sit right on the pace like he has done in the past and the five-year-old should have improvement to come at his second run of the preparation. Hard to beat. 

Nice race with a number of these in the frame for a spot in the Caulfield Cup later in the spring. Gear Up is a lightly raced seven-year-old from the Anabel Neasham stable that will be out to do what she did in the autumn by winning second up over the 2000m at Caulfield. He returned at Caulfield on August 31 over the 2000m and stuck on well for 3rd behind Young Werther, going a very healthy 16.9 lengths faster than standard in what was a promising return. When taking out the Victoria Gold Cup earlier in the year at this stage, the son of Teofilo was an eight length improver on figures. He will be up on the speed and can stick on strongly. 

Keen on Pericles in the feature of the day, the Underwood Stakes. The Godolphin galloper had been mixing it against some of the best at his last preparation without winning and resumed with a slightly unlucky runner-up in the PB Lawrence Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield last month before chalking up an easy-kill at Moonee Valley last time over the 1500m. He gets to 1800m for the first time since his three-year-old season but should be able to handle the step up and this doesn't appear to be an overly strong Group 1.  

A Little Deep should be hard to beat in the final race of the day at Caulfield. The Ciaron Maher-trained mare has been super impressive in her two runs this time in and has clearly come back from her spell as a better horse. She was a soft winner when resuming at Caulfield over the 1100m before rattling home to claim the Chautauqua Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley ahead of Arkansaw Kid, who has since come out and claimed the Gilgai Stakes (1200m) at Flemington. A Little Deep ran quick time in both of those and has drawn to get the gun run from barrier 3 with Jamie Kah to ride.
