Race 1: No.6 Harsh

The Team Jolly-trained galloper is in top-shelf form of late and looks well placed here for back-to-back success in this event.

Last start, the Brutal mare was rewarded for her consistent good form when she rang-up win number two by taking out BM78 Hcp, here on the Parks circuit over 2400m.

On a Heavy 8 that day, Harry Grace settled her back in the field before making his move nearing the turn where the mare tracked wide and in the run home, collared all in front of her, racing away to win by more than four lengths on the line.

From gate five, she maps to settle back in the field with Grace in charge again as she faces a similar assignment on the course proper.

The similar conditions look ideal for her and with a trouble-free run, the four-year-old looks the testing material in this contest.

Race 3: No.6 Metrical

The Bain & Taylor Team saddle-up Metrical here who is three starts into this preparation and should now be ready to produce his best in this event.

Last start, the British-bred gelding showed plenty of improvement when he finished a close-up fourth in a BM84 Hcp over 1250m, here on the Parks circuit.

On a Heavy 8 that day, Matthew Chadwick settled him at the rear of the field before tracking wide on the turn, then still seeing them all, stormed home late to beat all but the placegetters, beaten less than half a length on the line.

From gate six, he maps to settle in the back half of the field with Chadwick in the saddle again and at his peak here, he looks set to challenge for victory in this contest.

Race 5: No.4 Taken To Task

The Michael Hickmott-trained galloper is unbeaten in two starts and looks a serious contender for the major prize in this event.

Last start, the Brutal gelding came off his debut Maiden win and franked that effort by taking out a Class 1 Hcp over 1100m at Strathalbyn.

Settling second of the nine runners, he stalked the leader to the turn before tracking wider and soon after took the lead, going on to win by half a length in the end.

Stepping-up to Class 2 company here, he jumps from barrier eight and maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Todd Pannell remaining aboard for this assignment.

Yet to race on wet tracks, conditions may play a part here but on form, he looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
