Flemington Racing Tips for June 20 – Track specialist to win some more down the straight
- Choir Point is a strong chance in Race 4 after recent wins and solid Flemington form.
- Losesomewinmore's impressive Flemington record makes him a top pick in Race 7.
- Flying Done is tipped to improve in Race 9, especially if he can settle early.
Flemington racing takes place on Saturday, June 20, with a program set down for Flemington.
Here are our best bets from the meeting, which is one of the major metropolitan meetings from around Australia in our Saturday tips.
Race 4 No.4- Choir Point
Choir Point can go on with the job in Race 4. The promising filly from the Matt Laurie stable has won three of six and is two from three at her current preparation. She stepped out at Caulfield recently and scored over the 1100m ahead of High On The Hill. She has had exposure down the Flemington straight with a solid performance last spring in the Schweppervescence when 4th behind Pallaton in what turned out to be a strong form race. The daughter of Blue Point draws in the second half of the field towards the grandstand and will be ridden by the 1.5kg claimer, Luke Cartwright.
Race 7 No.4- Losesomewinmore
It was a big win by Losesomewinmore over the 1200m at Flemington at his most recent start and the six-year-old is a great chance of repeating the dose over the 1100m in Race 7. A winner of seven from 14, including five from seven at Flemington, he settled back and swept past his rivals to score from De Bergerac, going a very healthy 13.4 lengths faster than standard benchmark. He has been an improver on figures when third up at his past two preparations and draws towards the grandstand. Race should set up nicely with Samangu, Gin A Tonic and Recommendation among a few that will set up a sufficient speed. A firmer in the early betting, we can look for the Richard & Chantelle Jolly-trained galloper to be doing his best work late in the piece.
Race 9 No.3- Flying Done
The final race of the afternoon sees the three-year-olds in action and Flying Done can improve off a last start effort that saw him place 5th behind Dirnasser over the 1600m at Flemington a fortnight ago. He was outside the leader on a hot tempo and raced too keenly early on before fading at the business end. The Matthew Williams-trained galloper comes into this third up and was went from a 3rd at Warrnambool at this stage to three straight wins, including one at Flemington over the 1600m. The son of Kermadec won’t have to work too hard to find his favoured spot up front and if he can relax a bit better this time around he will be hard to get past at the business end.
