Race 3: No.13 Bluepinot
The Chris Waller-trained galloper is in great touch after two starts back and looks well placed here for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Blue Point gelding was second-up and showed improvement by taking out a BM70 Hcp, over 1350m at Doomben.
Settling mid-field early, he came off heels on the turn, then secured a space between runners and soon after took control, going on to score comfortably by two lengths on the line.
Stepping-up to Class 6 company here, he draws gate seven and maps to settle better than mid-field with Ron Stewart aboard for the first time.
Already a winner when third-up and dropping 6kgs for this assignment, he looks a major player for victory in this contest.
Race 5: No.11 Cindersea
Michael Freedman saddles-up Cindersea here who is in career-best form and ticks all the boxes that suggest she can remain unbeaten on the Ipswich track in this event.
Last start, the Deep Field mare was in line for a winning hat-trick when she missed by a whisker, beating all but one home in a Class 4 Plate over 1000m at the Gold Coast.
The mare sat third, three-wide to the turn before taking over soon after and looked home for all money, but raced erratically over the final 150m which saw her run down on the line, collecting second prize instead.
Stepping-up to the 1200m trip here, she draws ideally in gate two and maps to be box-seating early with Jace McMurray back for her third ride on the mare.
The stable fit a tongue control and lugging bit for the first time and in such good form of late, looks ideally placed to claim victory in this contest.
Race 8: No.17 John Rambo
The Tony Gollan-trained galloper is first-up here and looks set to claim victory at his first appearance in Listed company.
Last start, the Adelaide gelding ended his last preparation with a win when he took out The Gold Jewel Quality over 1400m at the Gold Coast.
Cejay Graham settled him mid-field off the fence before pushing forward approaching the turn where he took over, then showing a solid turn-of-foot, shot away and put a space on them, winning by three lengths on the line.
Ideally drawn in gate two, he maps to settle better than mid-field on the fence with Graham retaining the ride for this assignment.
The first emergency here, gains a start after early scratchings and already a two-time winner when resuming, he looks set to play an active part in the outcome of this contest.
