The David Eustace-trained galloper made a big impression at his most recent outing and with the right boxes ticked here, looks the one to beat in this event.

Last start, the son of The Autumn Sun was rewarded for his consistent form of late when he destroyed his rivals in a Class 4 Hcp, here over the 1650m trip.

Purton rode him a treat that night, settling fourth on the fence following the speed to the turn before coming off their heels, then in the run home, showed a solid turn-of-foot and put a space on them before crossing the line five lengths clear with plenty in reserve.

Ideally drawn in gate two tonight, he maps to sit right behind the early pace with Purton in the saddle the saddle again.

Boasting a solid record at the track and distance, the four-year-old looks the testing material in this contest.

Race 5: No.2 Meowth

Cody Mo saddles-up Meowth here who has been consistently finding the podium without winning but gets his chance to turn that around in this event.

Last start, the Showtime gelding finished bridesmaid again when he beat all but one home in a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1200m.

First out of the gates, Luke Ferraris eased him back to sit fourth one off the fence to the turn before crossing heels and soon after took the lead but was beaten by one better on the night, taking home the silver medal for the fifth time.

Well drawn in gate four, he maps to settle just off the speed with Ferraris retaining the ride as the blinkers come off and replaced with the visors for this assignment.

The five-year-old is a real competitor and deserves a change of luck in this contest.

Race 9: No.5 Romantic Gladiator

The Danny Shum-trained galloper is high-flying of late and ticks all the boxes here that suggest he can go back-to-back in this event.

Last start, the Irish-bred gelding continued the good form when he brought up his first win this campaign by taking out a Class 3 Hcp, here over 1650m with Zac Purton aboard for the first time.

From gate one, Purton had him box-seating from the outset, then on the home turn, secured a dream rails run and soon after took the lead, going on to score comfortably in the end.

Meeting similar company tonight, he gets the gun-run from gate one again and has Purton sticking with him for this assignment.

At his peak now and in winning form, he should prove hard to beat again in this contest.
