Ballarat Racing Tips for June 24 – Tan Tat Delight the one to beat in Race 6

Here are our best bets from the meeting, which also feature in our wrap of racing from around Australia in our midweek tips.

A field of just six line up in Race 4 of the day and Comic Hero can just about bank another win. The locally trained galloper scored at Mount Gambier two starts ago and comes off an excellent performance in a BenchMark 74 at Sandown at his most recent start when running on strongly for 3rd behind Thebelmontgangster. The winner out of that has since finished runner-up in a BM84 Saturday race at Caulfield. The former West Australian looks to be in his best form since coming over and will be right at his peak at his fourth run, while the small step up to the 1500m looks like it will suit. 

Tan Tat Delight is the one to beat in Race 6. The three-year-old comes off two promising runs to kick off her second preparation and was a last start 4th at Sandown over the 1200m behind Brilliant Horizon. She settled back and produced the fastest last 200m. The Chris Waller-trained filly went six lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is more than three lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. She will settle back in the small field with Shooter McGavin to lead them up before they bunch up on the turn when she can work into it and deliver her sharp finish to score.
