Belmont racing takes place on Wednesday, September 16 with a 7-race program set down for the Belmont racetrack.

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for  Belmont racetrack.

Race 3: No.3  Joyoh

Ted Martinovich saddles-up Joyoh here who is second-up and ticks enough boxes to suggest she can play a leading role in the outcome of this event.

Last start, the well-bred Awesome Rock mare resumed after four months off the scene and impressed when she beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1000m.

Tash Faithfull had her settled outside the leader to the turn, then the two of them went stride-for-stride all the way to the line with the mare being nosed out on the line.

Ideally drawn in gate two here, she maps to settle mid-field or better with Faithfull in the saddle again for this assignment.

Already a track and distance winner here, the four-year-old should prove hard to beat in this contest.

Race 5: No.3  About Turn

The Simon Miller-trained galloper is three starts into this preparation and down sharply in grade, looks a winning chance in this event.

Last start, the Star Turn gelding came off a big Maiden win at Pinjarra when he stepped-up sharply in grade and found the task too much when he finished unplaced in a Class 3 Hcp, here over 1400m.

Drawn the fence that day, Jarrad Noske had him box-seating on settling to the turn, then tracking wide he chased hard all the way home but was beaten by class that day, finishing sixth in the 11-strong field.

Dropping back to a Class 1 challenge here, he draws well in gate four and maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Noske backing-up for the ride.

Facing an easier task here, the four-year-old will be at his peak and should prove hard to beat in this contest.

Race 7: No.2  Choux Shoe

In good touch of late, the Simon Miller-trained galloper is well seasoned after six starts this campaign and ticks the right boxes that suggest she can make a claim for victory in this event at odds.

Last start, the Churchill mare wasn’t too far away when she finished third in a Class 3 Hcp, here over 1400m.

From gate nine, Jefferson Tsang settled her mid-field on the fence to the turn and despite the better going being down the centre of the track, Tsang stuck to the inside and in the run home, did a mighty job to get the mare to the line in third place, beaten just two lengths in the end.

Meeting similar company here over the same trip, she draws wide in gate nine and maps to settle back in the field with Tsang retaining the ride for this assignment.

Boasting a solid record at Belmont and already a winner at the track and distance, the five-year-old has a lot going for her here and looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
