The Ryan Tyrell-trained galloper is third-up today and looks ready to strike in this event.
Last start, the Capitalist gelding showed plenty of improvement when he finished third in a BM58 over the 800m sprint at Warwick.
Dale Smith settled him mid-field early before scoring a rails run where he finished strongly, arriving in time to grab the minor prize.
Nicely drawn in gate four today, he maps to settle just behind the speed with Tiff Brooker back for her third ride on the gelding.
Racing over a more preferred 1200m today, the five-year-old will strip fitter and down in weight, looks a major player in this contest.
Race 6: No.1 Ancient Scent
The Declan Maher-trained galloper is high-flying after three starts back and dropping back to country grade racing today, looks the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the Deep Field mare broke through for her first win when she clobbered her rivals in a Maiden Hcp over 1100m at the Gold Coast.
Settling third early with Damien Boutet aboard, she found the front on the home turn and from there, raced away to score, putting 2.5 lengths on them over the line.
This Fillies & Mares 0-60 Hcp looks no harder today where she draws well in gate four and maps to settle just behind the speed with Boutet retaining the ride.
At her peak, fourth-up today, the five-year-old looks the testing material in this contest.
Race 7: No.11 Pariah Engagement
The Team Archibald-trained galloper is back on track now and looks in the mix as a winning chance in this event.
Last start, the Pariah mare put in another strong effort when she beat all but one home in a BM62 Hcp over 1400m at the Sunshine Coast.
She settled mid-field early in a strung-out field before finishing off strongly and arriving in time to claim the runner-up prize, beaten a head on the line.
Dropping back to country class racing today, she draws well in gate five and maps to settle better than mid-field with cover.
Cejay Graham is the new pilot for this assignment and with a trouble-free run here, the four-year-old lines-up as a major player in this contest.
