Kilmore Racing Tips for June 1 – Former Ciaron Maher galloper looks a strong play in Race 6
- Swift Endorsement tipped as an improver in Race 1
- Johnny Tightlips expected to peak in Race 2
- Tel Aviv well-placed for a win in Race 6
Kilmore racing takes place on Monday, June 1, with a program set down for Kilmore.
Here are our best bets from the meeting, which also features in our daily selections.
Race 1 No.5- Swift Endorsement
Swift Endorsement can be an improver when he steps out in the opener. The Team Hayes galloper has placed just once in his four career starts to date with that coming at Geelong when first up at his last prep. He resumed at Werribee just over a fortnight ago and was posted back after beginning awkwardly, while his cause was not helped with the lack of tempo in the race. The son of Star Turn closed off well with the fastest last 400m and 200m to land on the heels of the placegetters in what was an encouraging run. Second up at his past preparation, he could only manage 7th but thaty came in harder company than this and it was a bit inconclusive as he was chopped out of it with 200m to go. Last start effort would suggest that he has come back in good order and the barrier is another tick.
Race 2 No.2- Johnny Tightlips
Johnny Tightlips can go one spot better than a last start effort that saw him finish runner-up behind Broosha over the 1212m here on May 15. The three-year-old settled back in the field of nine and closed off well to just miss in narrow fashion, going 1.4 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best figure that any horse in this race has produced. He just peaked slightly on his run there and the drop to the 1100m might be more suitable. From barrier 3, the son of Sepoy can settle a tad closer and should be ready to peak at his third career start.
Race 6 No.9- Tel Aviv
This might be the one for the former Ciaron Maher galloper, Tel Aviv, to chalk up the second win of his career. The three-year-old was sent to the Ben Brisbourne stables after failing in the VRC St Leger last year but comes off a promising effort at Seymour over the 1600m. He was posted wide no cover then was forced to go for home a long way out before just going down late behind Oceans Above, holding the others off by more than four lengths, three of whom have won since. Tel Aviv comes in with a freshen up but was solid in a recent trial and his best figures have come over a similar distance range. Expect him to be hard to beat.
