Rosehill racing takes place on Saturday, June 1, with the 10-race program set for the NSW metro meeting.

We have the best bets picked out from across day with value selections for Rosehill Racecourse.

Race 4: No.6 Franz Josef

The well-bred three-year-old is second-up here and yet to miss a top-two finish.

Last start, the Snitzel gelding resumed unbeaten (in two starts) after a 15-week spell and did well over an unsuitable distance when he beat all but one home in a BM68 over 1300m on Randwick’s Kensington track.

Kerrin McEvoy is the new pilot here and from gate 10, the gelding maps to cross and settle better than mid-field with cover.

He has trialled twice since his first preparation, winning the last of those on this track.

He lines-up here as a promising type and dropping 3kgs for this contest enhances his chances even more.

Already a winner when second-up, he can give this event a real shake.

Race 6: No.10 Molly Nails

The Matt Dale-trained mare is fresh off a five-month break and boasting an impeccable first-up record, looks right in the mix here at odds.

Last start, the Tavistock mare ended her last preparation on a high as she took out a BM72 over 1250m at Canterbury.

That brought to an end a successful campaign where she missed a top-four finish just once in her eight starts that time in.

She resumes here with Josh Parr aboard for the first time and draws ideally in gate three where she maps to settle better than mid-field with cover.

She is a four-time winner over the 1200m trip and is a winner at the track as well.

Six previous first-up appearances resulted in three wins and as many minor placings, indicating that she flies when fresh.

The stable have removed the winkers for the first time and given a trouble-free run here, she looks a serious contender for the main prize.

Race 8: No.3 Unusual Legacy

The Chris Waller-trained galloper has made a top-shelf start to his career boasting four victories from his six starts to date and third-up here, looks one of the better winning chances in this event.

Last start, the Unusual Suspect gelding was second-up off an 11-week break where he showed plenty of zest to claim victory in a BM78 over 1700m at Scone.

Rory Hutchings was aboard that day and rode him a treat, going on to win by a length on the line.

He draws wide here (gate 15 of 20) but has plenty of time to cross and settle from the 1800m start.

Already a winner when third-up and at the trip as well, if he can settle near mid-field with cover, he should have enough left over to be a genuine challenger in the run home.

Meeting similar company here and fitter for those two runs back, he looks a sound investment in this contest.

Race 10: No.16 Step Aside

Resuming off a 19-week spell, the Chris Waller-trained galloper ticks enough boxes here to stake a claim in winning this event on fresh legs.

Last start, the Redwood gelding came off a hat-trick of podium finishes when he was a little disappointing, when finishing fifth in a BM78, here over 1500m.

He was then sent to the paddock and has since put in two eye-catching trials on this track, finishing top-three in both.

Kerrin McEvoy takes the reins for the first time here where the four-year-old gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to be parked right behind the speed on settling.

He is a two-time winner when first-up and already a winner at the track.

If things go his way here, he should prove hard to hold out in the run home.
