Race 3: No.3 Charlina
The Jason Attard-trained galloper is high-flying this time in and ticks enough boxes here to suggest she can go back-to-back in this event.
Last start, the Flying Artie filly was third-up when she broke through for her first win in a Maiden Plate, here over 1000m.
Olivia Chambers settled her outside the leader and despite losing a plate in running, still had too many guns for her rivals on the day, going on to score by almost three lengths on the line.
Up to Class 1 company today, she maps to settle just behind the speed in the small field with Tom Sherry taking the reins for this assignment.
All three starts this preparation have ended on the podium and with a trouble-free run here, she looks set to land win number two today.
Race 5: No.7 Hush Hush
The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper is off to a flying start after three career runs to date and looks ideally placed for another Kembla Grange victory in this event.
Last start, the well-bred Street Boss filly came off her maiden win here when she tackled Class 1 opposition and beat all but one of them home over the mile trip at Gosford.
With Adam Farragher backing-up for the ride, she was box-seating on settling before railing through to briefly take the lead but was outgunned in the run home by the leader who fought back to take home the major prize.
The step-up to the 1600m might have been a touch too much when second-up but was beaten less than a length on the line.
Meeting similar company here, she drops back to 1500m today and from gate five, maps to settle just behind the speed again with Farragher retaining the ride.
Fitter for two runs back and already a winner at the track, the three-year-old should prove very hard to hold out in this contest.
Race 6: No.9 Can Expect Greater
Fitter for three runs back, the Jason Coyle-trained galloper is also a track winner and lines up here a solid winning chance at odds today.
Last start, the Per Incanto mare showed plenty of improvement when she beat all but one home in a BM64, here over 1200m.
From a wide draw, Heavelon Van Der Hoven settled her last of the nine runners before scouting wide on the turn where she was still spotting the leaders six lengths but stormed home to grab second prize, finishing less than a length from victory on the day.
A strong effort where they ran 1:09 for the 1200m on a soft track that day.
At her peak today, the step-up to the 1300m looks ideal where she draws out in gate ten but will settle back in the field anyway with Van Der Hoven steering the ship again.
A winner when fourth-up last preparation, she looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
