Dubbo racing takes place on Friday, June 5 with a 9-race program set down for the Dubbo racetrack.

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for  Dubbo racetrack.

Race 6: No.5  Not Written Off

The Cameron Crockett-trained galloper is second-up today and showed enough first-up to suggest she can go one better today.

Last start, the Written By mare resumed after more than seven months off the scene and impressed when she beat all but one home in a BM66 Hcp over 1000m at Muswellbrook.

Sitting second behind the leader to the turn, she then secured an inside run and halfway home, took the lead before being grabbed by a swooper near the line, leaving the mare with the silver medal for the race.

From gate five here, she maps to settle just behind the speed with Mitchell Bell back after steering the mare to victory previously.

Alread a winner when second-up and boasting success on wet tracks as well, the five-year-old will strip fitter and should prove hard to beat in this contest.

Race 7: No.8  Jamacri

Michael Mulholland saddles-up Jamacri here who has been thereabouts in four starts this preparation and should now be ready to produce her best.

Last start, the Pride of Dubai mare finished fourth in a Class 1 Hcp over 1200m at Cobar.

From the outside gate (9), she was trapped wide to the turn before scouting even wider on straightening and chased hard in the run home before weakening over the final 100m, still finishing on gamely to cross the line just behind the placegetters that day.

Much better drawn here in gate two, she maps to settle just behind the speed with cover and has Jacob Stiff back in the saddle for this assignment.

At her peak after those four runs back, the five-year-old should find this BM58 a little easier and looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.

Race 8: No.9  Magurtz

The Scott Singleton-trained galloper is third-up here and ticks the right boxes that suggest he can figure in the finish of this event.

Last start, the Tassort gelding was second-up and showed plenty of improvement when he beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1400m at Gunnedah.

From gate 11 (of 14), Mikayla Weir settled him mid-field but caught three-deep to the turn before tracking even wider and after covering more ground than the early explorers, did a mighty job to finish second, beaten less than two lengths on the line.

Weir sticks with him here where he draws wide again in gate 13 this time and maps to settle mid-field with cover.

Fitter for two runs back, the three-year-old is already a winner when third-up and is capable of taking out this contest.
