Race 4: No.3 Creator Of World
The Ross McConville-trained galloper is in good touch this time in and looks a solid chance of bringing up his first win in this event.
Last start, the Time To Reign gelding found the podium for the second time this preparation when he finished third in a Maiden Hcp, here on the main track over 1200m.
Jumping from gate 11 (of 12), Zac Lloyd settled him back in the field before working him into the race on the turn, then pushing between runners, he finished off strongly to grab the minor prize in the race.
Drawn much better today in gate two, he maps to settle better than mid-field with Lloyd in the saddle again.
The step-up to the 1450m looks ideal for him now and at his peak after three runs back, he looks a major player in this contest.
Race 5: No.5 Zougotme
Team Price saddle-up Zougotme here who is high-flying after two starts back and looks well placed for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Zousain gelding was second-up and finally broke through for his first career-win when he took out a Maiden Hcp over 1210m at Moruya.
Settling mid-field on the fence, Jean Van Overmeire kept him on the leader’s heels to the turn before securing a rails run and sliding inside the leader, took the lead and went on to score by half a length on the line.
From barrier eight, he maps to cross and settle in the first half-dozen with Van Overmeire retaining the ride for this assignment.
Taking on Class 1 company today, the three-year-old will strip even fitter and looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 7: No.6 Sneaky Choice
The Brad Widdup-trained galloper resumes off a 19-week spell today and ticks enough boxes to suggest she is a serious threat to this field on fresh legs.
Last start, the Extreme Choice mare ended her last preparation on a high when she won a BM64 Hcp over 1600m, here on the main track.
With Tommy Berry aboard, she settled in the back half of the field to the turn before easing off the fence, then in the run home, was held-up briefly before securing a split and hit the line hard, arriving in time to snatch victory on the post.
Drawn well in gate five here, she maps to settle near mid-field with Berry back shooting for his third-straight win on the mare.
Already a winner when first-up and has won twice previously here (on the main track), the four-year-old is capable of saluting in this contest.
Race 8: No.4 Fiftyfivechevy
The locally-trained galloper is second-up today and off an impressive return to the track, looks set to go one better in this event.
Last start, the Puissance de Lune gelding resumed after 18 weeks off the scene and did well to beat all but one home in a BM74 Hcp over 1435m at Moruya.
Lumping 60kgs on her return, she settled near the tail of the field to the turn before coming off heels and after being held-up on straightening, finally got clear but spotted them too much start and had to settle for second prize, beaten less than a length by The Stars Align, carrying 4kgs less in weight that day.
Dropping back to BM64 company here, she carries thew same weight and has Dylan Gibbons as the new pilot for this assignment.
Already a winner when second-up, the four-year-old gets his chance here to make his debut at the track, a winning one in this contest.
