Wagga racing takes place on Thursday, August 27 with an 8-race program set down for the Wagga racetrack.

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for  Wagga racetrack.

Race 4: No.6  Snitzel Tycoon

The Andrew Dale-trained galloper is yet to miss a podium finish and with two runs now under her belt, she looks ready to pounce in this event.

Last start, the Finance Tycoon filly improved off her debut third-place effort when she beat all but one home this time in a 900m Maiden Hcp at Albury.

On a Heavy 8 that day, apprentice Cassidy Hill settled her outside the leader to the turn, then on straightening, the leader pinched a break, leaving the filly to do all the chasing but she was unable to bridge the gap, beaten just over a length on the line.

From gate seven here and little early speed inside her, she maps to cross and settle right behind the speed with Cory Parish as the new pilot.

Two starts on wet tracks have been impressive so far and with conditions similar here, the three-year-old will strip even fitter and should prove hard to hold out in this contest.

Race 7: No.3  Lord Of Valor

The Donna Scott-trained galloper is high-flying at the moment and ticks the right boxes here to suggest he can bring-up the hat-trick in this event.

Last start, the Epaulette gelding came off his maiden win and franked that effort by taking out a Class 1 Hcp over 1175m at Albury.

With Blaike McDougall aboard, he settled second, at the leader’s girth to the turn, then soon after gained the upper hand and from there, never looked like being beaten, crossing the line more than a length clear, carrying top weight on a Heavy 8 that day.

Climbing through the grades, he faces Class 2 competition here and ideally drawn in gate three, maps to settle right behind the speed, on the fence with Brock Ryan as the new pilot.

Fourth-up and at his peak today, he looks the testing material again in this contest.

Race 8: No.6  Reds City

Anthony Craig saddles-up Reds City here who is in great touch this time in and looks in the mix for back-to-back victories in this event.

Last start, the Ilovethiscity mare bounced back from a poor showing at Forbes and turned it all around when she clobbered her rivals in a BM50 Hcp over 1000m at Narrandera.

From gate two, Ella Bent had her leading on settling to the turn, then in the run home, strengthened her grip on proceedings and went on to score comfortably by 1.5 lengths on the line with some to spare.

Stepping-up slightly in grade, she faces BM58 opposition here where she draws wide in gate 13 and maps to cross and settle mid-field or better with Bent in the saddle again.

At her peak after three runs back and already a winner at the track and distance, the conditions are also favourable and with that all that in mind, the five-year-old looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
