Race 7: No.3 Fleeting Boom
The Tony Gollan-trained galloper has hit her straps early and having her third race start here, looks a genuine winning chance in this event.
Last start, the Spirit of Boom filly showed plenty of improvement off her debut run when she claimed victory in a set weights Maiden, here over 1200m with Ben Thompson aboard.
From gate two, she settled in front of the pack to the turn, then put under pressure, she responded well in the run home and held them all at bay to score an all-the-way win in the end.
Ideally drawn again in gate two, she maps to settle on or near the speed with Thompson steering the ship again.
Facing Class 1 company here and up in weight, the three-year-old will still strip fitter for those two runs to date and should prove hard to run down again in this contest.
Race 9: No.2 No Fooling
The Tony Gollan-trained galloper has found his best form after three starts this campaign and despite the rise in grade, still looks the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the Alabama Express gelding came off two unplaced efforts when third-up, he clobbered his rivals in a BM 0-65, here over 1110m.
The best backed runner in the race ($8 into $5) settled back in the field to the turn, then on straightening, Ryan Maloney kept him near the fence where he secured a split between runners and soon after, grabbed the lead and went on to score comfortably by almost two lengths in the end.
Stepping-up to Class 3 competition here, he draws ideally in gate two but maps to settle back in the field with Maloney in the saddle again.
Fourth-up and at his peak, he should prove hard to hold out in this contest.
Race 10: No.7 Lebanese
Tony Gollan saddles-up Lebanese here who is in career-best form and ticks enough boxes here to suggest she can go back-to-back in this event.
Last start, the Hellbent mare landed her third career win when she took out a BM70 Hcp, here over 1350m.
Emily Lang had her leading from barrier rise where she set s strong pace, then in the run home, still had enough gas in the tank to hold off all challenges and go on to score a barrier-to-box win in the end.
Facing BM68 company here, she draws barrier eight and maps to cross and settle on or near the speed with regular rider Lang at the helm again.
Now a track and distance winner here and in top-shelf form, the four-year-old lines-up here as the testing material in this contest.
