John Size saddles-up Wunderbar here who boasts a strong fresh record and second-up tonight looks in the mix for another bold performance.

Last start, the Rich Enuff gelding resumed off a 17-week spell and clearly in need of the run, finished mid-field in a Class 2, here over 1200m with Australian rider Brenton Avdulla in the saddle.

From barrier-rise, he settled in the box-seat, on the leader’s heels, and travelled well to the turn before the pace quickened where he stuck with them but the final 200m saw him out and he weakened to finish three lengths from the winner.

Fitter for that run back, conditions here are more favourable where he gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to be box-seating again with new pilot Hugh Bowman taking the reins.

Unbeaten in two previous second-up appearances, the four-year-old is also a track specialist, with all six career-wins coming from 11 starts at this track.

The right boxes are ticked to see him improve enough to take home the major prize in this contest.

Race 9: No.7 Gentlemen Legacy

The Tony Cruz-trained galloper is third-up tonight and has done enough this preparation to suggest he is a winning chance in this event.

Last start, he did it tough from the outset but still managed to beat all but one home in a Class 3, here over 1600m with Alex Badel in the saddle.

Slowly away, Badel had to ride him early where he eventually settled mid-field but was trapped three-wide to turn, before fanning even wider where he still had something left and doing his best work late, arrived in time to grab the silver medal on the line.

He steps-up to the 1800m here where he has had success previously and from gate six, maps to settle better than mid-field with cover.

Badel had the job again and already a winner when third-up, the four-year-old should be ready to produce his best in this contest.

Race 11: No.5 Patch Of Stars

The Manfred Man-trained galloper is high flying of late and ticks all the boxes here that suggest he is the one to beat in this event.

Last start, the All Too Hard gelding made it back-to-back wins when he took out a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1400m with Zac Purton aboard.

Box-seating from barrier rise, he travelled sweetly to the turn before Purton worked him off the leader’s heels and in a heartbeat, took control before putting a space on them and eased over the final 50m, crossed the line a length clear in the end.

Drawn well again tonight, he maps to be box-seating from gate four and has Purton at the helm again.

He steps-up in grade and takes on Class 3 company here but drops 6kgs for the assignment.

A trouble-free run tonight should see him fighting out the finish in this contest.
