Rosehill racing takes place on Saturday, June 14 with a 10-race program set down for Rosehill racetrack.

Race 4: No.3 Hell To Pay

The O’Shea & Charlton-trained galloper is in top-shelf form this time in and looks ideally placed for back-to-back success in this event.

Last start, the Hellbent gelding came off consecutive silver medal efforts and went one better at Canterbury, taking out a BM72 over 1550m with Anna Roper in the saddle.

Box-seating on settling, Roper eased him off the fence on the turn where he cruised alongside the leader and was always in control from there, pulling away over the final 100m to collect the cash on a Heavy 8 that day.

Meeting similar company here, he has just 1kg more to carry and from gate three, maps to be on the leader’s heels again with Roper retaining the ride.

All boxes look ticked for a repeat performance in this contest.

Race 5: No.9 King’s Secret

Joe Pride saddles-up King’s Secret here who hasn’t missed a podium finish in five career starts to date and looks set to keep that record intact for this event.

Last start, the Shalaa gelding made light work of a BM72, here over 1100m, taking out the event by a length on the line with Andrew Adkins aboard.

On a Heavy 8 that day, he settled third behind the pace before taking over inside the final 100m and going on to score a convincing win in the end.

Nicely drawn in gate five here, Adkins has the reins again and maps to have the three-year-old parked right behind the speed again.

Meeting similar company over the same track and distance, a trouble-free run should be all he needs to bring up back-to-back success in this contest.

Race 9: No.6 Half Yours

All boxes are ticked for the Team McEvoy galloper who has excelled since arriving in Australia and looks ideally placed here to bring up the hat-trick in this event.

Last start, the Irish-bred gelding franked his Seymour victory when he destroyed his rivals in a BM78 over 1800m with his first look at the Rosehill track.

On a Heavy 8 that day, he drew wide in gate nine where Dylan Gibbons settled him back in the field and travelled three-wide early before taking over on the turn and running away with the race, putting 3.5 lengths on the field as he crossed the line.

He steps-up to the 2000m trip here as he meets similar opposition with Gibbons steering the ship again.

From gate 10 (of 17), he will almost certainly settle back in the field again and with conditions to suit, he will be at his peak for this and should prove hard to hold out.
