The Mark Newnham-trained galloper has improved after four career starts and now looks ready to win.

Last start, the Tagaloa gelding found the podium again when he finished third in a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1400m.

Zac Purton settled him back in the field (on the fence) before coming off heels and in the run home, weaved through traffic to find clean air and hit the line well to grab the minor prize in a slowly run affair that suited the leader/winner who carried just 53kgs on the day.

On a six-day back-up here, he draws gate nine and maps to settle in the back half of the field with Jerry Chau as the new pilot.

After the claim, he carries 2.5kgs less tonight and after four starts, the three-year-old should be at his peak and looks a winning chance in this contest.

Race 7: No.6 Lucrative Eight

The Ricky Yiu-trained galloper has been consistent with three-straight podium finishes to date and looks set to break through for his first win in this event.

Last start, the Foxwedge gelding put in 100% again when he beat all but one home in a Class 4, here over 1200m.

From barrier rise, Karis Teetan pushed him forward to be sitting second, outside the leader on settling, then in the run home, he was a part of a three-horse battle, grabbing second prize on the line.

From gate seven, he maps to settle in the first half dozen with Teetan calling the shots again.

After three solid performances to date, he will be at his peak here and gets his chance to land his first win in this contest.

Race 11: No.14 Conrad Patch

Cody Mo saddles-up Conrad Patch here who steps-up in grade tonight but still looks well placed to make an impression in this event.

Last start, the Zousain gelding came off an unplaced effort on a soft track when back on top of the ground, he claimed his second win in a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1200m.

With Australian jockey Craig Williams aboard, he drew wide in gate 11 and never on the track, settled mid-field and three-wide to the turn before storming home to grab an unlikely victory while lumping 61kgs.

Stepping-up to Class 3 company tonight, he will enjoy the weight relief as he drops 6.5kgs for this assignment and jumping from gate seven, he maps to settle mid-field with Karis Teetan as the new pilot.

Up in class but down in weight and a last start winner, the 1400m now looks ideal for him and he should prove hard to hold out in this contest.
