Race 6: No.4 Tron Bolt

The Chris Waller-trained galloper brings top-shelf Sydney form here and in conditions to suit, looks the one to beat in this event.

Last start, the Toronado colt came off a big win at Randwick when he franked that effort by taking out another Two-year-Old Hcp at Rosehill over 1300m.

Siena Grima settled him near last on the fence before working him into the race on the turn, then coming off heels, he thrived in the conditions and inside the final 200m, he put paid to them and went on to score by almost two lengths in the end.

Another wet track looks all but certain on Stradbroke Day and from gate nine, he maps to push forward early and cross to settle near mid-field.

James McDonald returns to steer the ship, having ridden the colt to victory two starts back and with a trouble-free run, the two-year-old looks the hardest to beat in this contest.

Race 8: No.7 Headley Grange

Primed for this race, the Joe Pride-trained galloper has run into his best form at the right time and ticks enough boxes here that suggest he will take beating in this year’s Stradbroke.

Last start, the Exosphere gelding found his mojo and rang-up a win when he took out the Group 1 Kingsford Smith Cup, here over 1300m.

Settling perfectly, fifth one off the fence, he held his ground to the turn, then secured an inside run and after being held-up, squeezed through an opening and finished best in the run to the line and claimed the major prize.

Drawn barrier eight here, he maps to push forward and settle better than mid-field with cover.

Adam Hyeronimus has been on board for 10 rides and found the winning post on seven occasions with the five-year-old and with a clear run to the line here, looks set for another success in this contest.

Race 9: No.5 Militarize

Chris Waller saddles-up Militarize here who has been thereabouts at each start this preparation and now looks ready to produce his best.

Last start, the Dundeel gelding put in his best effort this time in when he beat all but one home in the Group 3 Lord Mayor’s Cup, here over 1800m.

Ridden a treat by James McDonald, he settled the gelding fifth on the fence to the turn before coming off heels and in the run home finished strongly, beaten a whisker on the line, taking home the silver medal in the race.

Having his tenth run in Group 2 company here, he draws ideally in gate two and maps to settle right behind the speed with J.Mac in the saddle again.

Already a three-time winner at Group 1 level, his resume suggests a wet track won’t be bothering him at all and at his peak now, he looks in the mix to claim victory in this contest.
