Sandown Racing Tips for June 13 – Each-way contender to make his mark in Race 6

Here are our best bets from the meeting, which is one of the major metropolitan meetings in Australia on Saturday, which includes the Stradbroke Handicap meeting at Eagle Farm.

Nice debut by Stars Of Dom at Sandown on the Hillside circuit on May 23 and the Hayes galloper can go one spot better in this race. At her debut, the daughter of Exceedance settled just worse than midfield and over the 1000m and came home with the fastest late splits to land a neck away from the winner, going 8.1 lengths faster than standard benchmark. She should have improvement to come at her second career start and with Damien Thornton on board from barrier 5, she should be hard to beat. 

Clevor Trever can go on with the job in Race 4. The promising galloper will be going for a hat-trick of wins and is yet to finish outside of the top two in five career starts. He scored at Bendigo when resuming over the 1300m then headed to Caulfield and ran on to defeat Obvious on a Heavy track over the 1400m. The Patrick Payne-trained galloper tucks into a midfield position here and will be strong again at the business end. 

Keen on Landmark at the each-way quote in Race 6. The Lloyd Kennewell-trained galloper has been knocking on the door in his two runs this time in and was a real eye-catcher when resuming with a runner-up behind Along The River on the Caulfield Heath over the 1000m before again filling the exacta at his only other run with that coming at Sandown behind Dreamzel late last month. The four-year-old comes into this third up and spiked big time on benchmark figures at this stage of his last prep to score over the 1100m at Caulfield. With just the 54.5kg on his back and a perfect draw, he looks set to challenge them late in the piece.
