Race 3: No.3 De Bergerac
The Grahame Begg-trained galloper is three starts into this campaign and facing a much easier task here, looks a major contestant for the big prize in this event.
Last start, the Zoustar gelding lined-up in the Group 3 Star Kingdom Stakes and wasn’t disgraced when finishing sixth in the 1200m event at Rosehill.
He settled in the back half of the field early and in the run home, was blocked for a run inside the final 300m and had to be eased before going on to finish less than three lengths from the winner.
Prior to that, he finished unplaced in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate and then the Group 1 Newmarket Hcp at Flemington.
Dropping sharply in grade here, he takes on BM88 company where he is ideally drawn in gate two and has Craig Williams as the new pilot.
Fourth-up and at his peak, he looks a genuine threat in this contest and well worth an each-way ticket.
Race 4: No.1 Plaintiff
Peter Snowden saddles-up Plaintiff here who is unbeaten in four starts and second-up here looks the one to beat again in this event.
Last start, the Zoustar filly resumed off a 15-week spell and picked up where she left off by taking out the Group 3 PJ Bell Stakes, here over 1200m.
Jumping from the carpark in gate 17, Jordan Childs chose to ease her back and settle last early before tracking wide, taking the turn as the widest runner and still found enough to arrive in time and claim first prize on the line.
Drawn much better in gate seven for this, she maps to settle back in the field with Childs steering the ship again and the step-up to the 1400m looks ideal for her now.
All boxes are ticked here where she is two from two at Randwick and already a winner when second-up, the three-year-old will take a ton of beating in tis contest.
Race 6: No.4 She’s A Dealer
The New Zealand-based galloper is in top-shelf form this preparation and looks set for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Ace High mare was impressive when taking out the Group 1 NZ Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes over 1600m at Trentham.
From the outside gate (17), she trapped three-wide the entire trip before proving too good in the end and crossed the line a length clear of the field.
This is good form to bring into a Group 3 contest where she draws wide in gate 14 but will settle back in the field just the same with Jordan Childs in the saddle.
If she can secure a clear run to the line on straightening, the four-year-old can figure in the finish of this contest.
