Race 6: No.2 Pelevecchio
The Phillip Stokes-trained galloper is second-up here and after a successful return to the track, looks set to challenge for the major prize in this event.
Last start, the Castelvecchio mare resumed after 18 weeks off the scene when she claimed third prize in a BM58 over 1400m at Murray bridge.
Stepping up in grade here, the mare faces Class 2 company but drops 4kgs in the process.
Jacob Opperman retains the ride where the four-year-old is ideally drawn in gate two and maps to do no early work as she settles back in the field.
Already a winner when second-up, the 1600m looks ideal for her now and she should be a real force in the outcome of this contest.
Race 8: No.5 Pacific Jewel
The Travis Doudle-trained galloper is third-up here and looks well placed to produce her best form in this event.
Last start, the Universal Ruler mare made it back-to-back podium finishes when she took home third prize in a BM62, here on the Parks circuit over 1250m.
Trapped wide most of the way, she jumped from gate 12 (of 13) and impressed when she arrived in time to claim the minor prize in the race with Jason Holder in the saddle.
Drawn nicely in gate five, she maps to settle just behind the speed with Holder steering the ship again.
Fitter for two runs back and already a winner when third-up, the five-year-old looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.
Race 9: No.8 Shadow Eagle
The locally-trained galloper is in great touch this preparation and ticks all the boxes that suggest he will take beating in this event.
Last start, the American-sired gelding brought-up his second win this time in when he clobbered his rivals in a BM68, here over 1100m with apprentice Felicity Atkinson aboard.
He settled worse than mid-field and three-wide before scouting even wider on the turn and finished over the top of them, going on to win by 1.5 lengths on the line.
He faces similar company here with new rider Rochelle Milnes at the helm and from gate two, he maps to settle mid-field or better with cover.
Already a two-time winner at the track and has saluted twice over the trip, the four-year-old has strong claims here and looks the one to beat in this contest.
