The Ashley Maley-trained galloper is high-flying after three starts back even fitter here, looks the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the Sessions gelding made it two wins from his three runs this time in when he arrived in time to claim victory in a Class 3 Hcp over 1400m at Bunbury.
With apprentice Holly Nottle aboard, he was box-seating on settling before crossing heels and fought it out all the way home with the race leader before gaining the upper hand near the line.
At his peak here after three runs back, he draws perfectly in gate three and maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Steven Parnham as the new pilot.
In career-best form this campaign, a trouble-free run here should find him very hard to hold out in this contest.
Race 3: No.6 The Jester’s Son
The Helen Harding-trained galloper is in outstanding form this preparation and looks in his element here and well placed to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Pierro gelding kept the flag flying when he clobbered his rivals in a BM58, here over 1760m with Zephen Johnston-Porter aboard for his sixth ride on the five-year-old.
He settled last of the seven runners before tracking wide on the turn and once in front, ran away with it, scoring by two lengths on the line.
This looks no harder and drawing nicely in gate three, he does no early work as he maps to settle back in the field again with Johnston-Porter in the saddle again.
He has the runs on the board and already boasting five podium finishes (including two wins) at this track from six previous visits, he looks the testing material in this contest.
Race 4: No.4 Close At Hand
The locally-trained galloper boasts a strong home track record and currently in career-best form, looks the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the Impending gelding chalked-up his sixth career win when he took out the Tom Sayers Memorial Sprint, here over 1300m.
With leading rider Lucy Fiore in saddle, he settled back in the field before scouting wide on the turn and finished best to claim victory near the line.
Six starts on this track have led to three wins and two minor placings with Fiore aboard for all three track victories as she retains the ride for this assignment.
Ideally drawn in gate two, he maps to settle near mid-field (on the fence) and looks to have the last crack at them again.
Securing clear passage to the line should see the five-year-old saluting again in this contest.
