Stuart Gower saddles-up Moussaka here who is high-flying after three starts back and looks set to continue with the good form in this event.

Last start, the British-sired gelding finally broke through for his first win when he destroyed his opposition in a Maiden Plate over 1600m at Balaklava.

Settling mid-field early, Jason Holder worked him into the race nearing the turn before taking over inside the final 200m and with plenty in reserve, put a space on them as he crossed the line 4.5 lengths clear in the end.

Stepping up to Class 1 company here, he draws barrier eight and maps to settle mid-field with Holder in charge again.

In winning form now and at his peak here, the four-year-old looks the one to beat again in this contest.

Race 5: No.4 Fast Tempo

The locally-trained galloper is second-up today and down in grade, looks a serious winning chance in this event.

Last start, the Time Test gelding resumed after 27 weeks off the scene and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fourth in a Class 2 Hcp, here over 1100m.

On a Heavy 10 that day, he struggled to handle the conditions over the unsuitable sprint distance but still managed to finish less than two lengths from the winner.

Ideally drawn here in gate two, he maps to do no early work as he settles in the back half of the field with Taylor Johnstone retaining the ride.

Already a winner when second-up, he is yet to salute at Morphettville but gets his chance here to score his second career win in this contest.

Race 8: No.5 The Journo

The Gawler-based galloper is second-up here and down in grade, looks a strong winning chance in this event.

Last start, the Written By gelding resumed off a 10-week spell and in need of the run, finished fifth in a Class 2 Hcp, here over 1100m.

From gate 10, Kayla Crowther settled him at the rear of the field to the turn and in the Heavy 10 conditions, spotted them too much start but still ran home strongly to pass more than half of them, finishing less then four lengths from the winner.

Dropping back to BM56 competition here, he draws to do no early work from gate two and maps to settle back in the field with Teagan Voorham returning for her third ride on the gelding.

Already a winner when second-up and has previous success at the track as well, the five-year-old is every chance of figuring in the finish of this contest.
