Happy Valley racing takes place on Wednesday, July 8 with a 9-race program set down for the Happy Valley racetrack.

The Danny Shum-trained galloper is in great touch after four starts back and is ideally placed here to drum-up another win in this event.

Last start, the D'argento gelding came off a big win here when he finished a close-up third in a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1200m.

From gate nine (of 12), Lyle Hewitson settled him worse than mid-field on the fence, then nearing the turn, had to be eased to avoid the heels of other runners before scouting wide and finishing strong, arriving in time to claim the minor prize in the race.

Drawn much better tonight in gate three, he maps to settle better than mid-field with cover and has Zac Purton aboard for the first time.

Better placed here and at his peak tonight, he should take a ton of beating in this contest.

Race 7: No.3 Bunta Baby

Manfred Man saddles-up Bunta Baby here who is second-up and looks set to score another win in this event.

Last start, the well-bred Cable Bay gelding resumed off a nine-week spell and impressed when he finished a close-up third in a Class 3 Hcp, here over 1000m.

Last out of the gates, he recovered to settle mid-field on the fence to the turn, then tracked wide to find clean air and in the run home, hit the line aggressively to finish in a three-way photo, taking home the minor prize in the end.

He draws the outside gate (12) tonight and will most likely drop back to take a sit in the back half of the field with Zac Purton aboard as the new pilot.

If he can stay in touch with them early, his late-race speed should see him there at the finish again in this contest.

Race 9: No.7 King Profit

The Danny Shum-trained galloper is in top-shelf form this time in and ticks the boxes that suggest another first-class effort in on the cards in this event.

Last start, the Stratosphere gelding made it four-straight top-two finishes when he beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp, here over 1200m.

Settling second on the fence, he trailed the leader to the turn then eased off the rail by Ellis Wong, he set sail after the leader and arrived in time to be a part of a three-way photo, beaten a whisker out of first prize.

From gate six tonight, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Zac Purton taking the reins for the first time and in his current form, he should prove hard to hold out in this contest.
