Moe Racing Tips for July 21 – Mystic set for mighty performance in Race 2
- Duke Of Oman is favored in Race 1 in a weaker field.
- Mighty Mystic likely to finish strongly in Race 2.
- Trangoojahray drops in grade and is the top bet for Race 5.
Moe racing takes place on Tuesday, July 21, with an exciting country meeting set down for Moe.
Here are our best bets from the meeting, which also feature in our daily selections.
Race 1 No.3- Duke Of Oman
This looks to be a suitable assignment for Duke Of Oman. The four-year-old is yet to place in two starts but was solid on debut at Pakenham last year when 5th in a race that has produced some handy types before stepping out off a long break at Sandown recently and finishing a well-beaten 7th behind Here’s Matilda on a Heavy track. He was given no hope from the back on a crawling tempo but was ok to the line to go five lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is a better figure than what any horse in this race has produced. This is a much weaker Maiden and he will strip fitter at his second run back.
Race 2 No.1- Mighty Mystic
Mighty Mystic can go a couple of spots better than a debut effort that saw him finish 3rd behind Eton Affair on a Heavy 10 track at Moe over the 1217m earlier this month. The John Allen-trained galloper settled back in the small field and worked into it with the fastest 400m-200m split before just peaking slightly on his run to land within a length of the winner in a race that developed into a sit and sprint. He should have natural improvement to come and we should see this race set up a bit better for him with the likes of Kadesh and Bidu to set up a suitable tempo. Look for him to run over the top of them late in the piece.
Race 5 No.3- Trangoojahray
Keen on Trangoojahray in Race 5. The five-year-old has won three of eight career starts and was solid when resuming at Sandown in a BenchMark 70 on July 8 over the 1500m, placing 4th behind Sweet Jasmine. She wobbled out on the home turn and lost ground but stuck on well. The Enver Jusufovic mare drops in grade for this and at her only previous second up run, she was a six length improver on benchmark figures when scoring at Pakenham. The daughter of Grunt is one from one over the 1600m and will land in a nice spot from barrier 7.
