Gosford racing takes place on Thursday, May 28 with an 8-race program set down for the Gosford racetrack.

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for  Gosford racetrack.

Race 4: No.6  Yesspecially

The Peter Snowden-trained galloper comes off an impressive first start here and looks well placed to go on with it in this event.

Last start, the Yes Yes Yes gelding caught the eye of punters when he won on debut in a set weights Maiden Plate over 1262m at Taree.

On a Heavy 8 that day, he carried 59kgs with Ben Looker aboard and settled fourth one off the fence to the turn, then came off heels taking over soon after before going on to score a comfortable win over the line.

Stepping-up to Class 1 company today, he draws the outside gate (11), receiving some relief after early scratchings where he maps to push forward and settle better than mid-field with Looker in the saddle again.

The forecast Heavy 9 conditions look ideal for him, having won last start on a wet track, and he drops 2.5kgs for this assignment.

A trouble-free run today should see him hard to hold out in this contest.

Race 5: No.6  Thunder Lights

The Kristen Buchanan-trained galloper is high-flying of late and looks well placed to make the rise in grade a successful one in this event.

Last start, the All Too Hard gelding finally broke through to claim his first win by taking out a set weights Maiden Plate over 1509m at Port Macquarie.

Coming off successive minor placings, he stepped out onto a Heavy 9 track and made it look easy with Shannen Llewellyn in charge where he settled in the box seat to the turn where the leader hung-out, and given the dream run along the fence, the three-year-old shot by them all and went on to score by 4.5 lengths in the end.

From gate six, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Llewellyn steering the ship again and after the claim will carry 4kgs less than that last start win.

Already proven in wet conditions, he looks a little over the odds here and is well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.

Race 8: No.7  Easiest Choice

David Pfieffer saddles-up Easiest Choice here who is in top-shelf form this preparation and lines-up here looking one of the main chances for victory in this event.

Last start, the Trapeze Artist mare came off a big win in Class 1 company at Wyong when she stepped-up in grade and did well to finish a close-up third in a BM68 over 1350m on the same track.

Jason Collett settled her two pairs back, one off the fence to the turn, then tracked wide looking for clean air and in the run home, loomed as a big threat but her run finished inside the final 100m, still taking home the bronze medal, beaten half a length on the line.

The 1350m tested her last start and today she returns to the 1200m trip, facing similar company with Jay Ford returning for his third ride on the mare.

The four-year-old has three podium finishes from as many starts on rain affected tracks but faces her first heavy track today.

At her peak and in such good form, she looks a real threat in this contest.
