Eagle Farm racing takes place on Saturday, June 28 with a 9-race program set down for Eagle Farm racetrack.

Race 6: No.8 Quietness
Race 7: No.4 Rising Pacific

Race 6: No.8 Quietness

The O’Shea & Charlton-trained import has his second start on Australian soil here and his resume suggests he just might have something on his opposition in this contest.

Last start, the British-bred mare resumed after nine months off the scene where she made her Australian debut and caught the eye when finishing third in Open company over 1600m at Randwick.

Settling well back in the field, she was spotting the leaders a dozen lengths approaching the turn and sticking to the fence, Zac Lloyd wound her up where she finished strongly to grab the minor prize on fresh legs.

This trip looks ideal for her and from gate three, she maps to settle near mid-field again, on the fence with cover.

Already a winner when second-up, the extra distance will suit her to a tee and she should prove hard to hold out in this contest.

Race 7: No.4 Rising Pacific

The Tony Gollan-trained galloper is a track specialist here and with three wins from his past four starts, he looks set to add another notch to his resume in this event.

Last start, the Preferment gelding came off a hat-trick of wins (all on this track), when he finished fifth in the Listed Spear Chief Quality Hcp, here again over 1500m.

Settling back in the field, the drop back from 1800m the start prior played a part that day as he still finished strongly but simply gave the front runners too much start and was unable to reel them in.

The 1600m looks ideal for him here where he draws nicely in gate four and maps to be sitting near mid-field with cover.

Andrew Mallyon has been aboard for the past four starts and sticks with him for this assignment.

Seven starts at the track and distance have resulted in three wins and as many minor placings which puts him up amongst the amin chances for victory in this contest.

Race 9: No.9 Metalart

Kelly Schweida saddles-up Metalart here who is high flying this time in and ticks the boxes that suggest he will play a major role in the outcome of this event.

Last start, the well-bred Better Than Ready gelding came off a second-up win at Doomben when he came from back in the field to grab third prize in the Listed Lightning Quality, here over 1000m with Michael Rodd on board.

Slowly away, he settled in the back half of the field to the turn then was blocked for a room and with nowhere to go, Rodd steered him back to the inside and finally seeing daylight, he hit the line strongly and arrived in time to claim the minor prize.

The return to the 1200m here looks ideal where he is already a four-time winner and from gate three, he maps to be mid-field with cover on settling, with Jason Collett as the new pilot.

Unbeaten at the track and distance, he looks the testing material at odds in this contest.
