Race 1: No.3 The Little General
The Waterhouse & Bott-trained galloper is second-up here and looks all set for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the All Too Hard gelding resumed after six months off the scene and impressed when he took out BM68 over 1100m at Hawkesbury.
Drawn the outside gate (11), Zac Wadick pushed him forward to lead on settling and from there, was never headed, hanging on to win in a tight finish.
Dropping back to BM64 company here, he gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to be box-seating on settling with Wadick in the saddle again.
Fitter for that first-up effort and a two-time winner on wet tracks, he has conditions to suit and should prove hard to hold out again.
Race 6: No.8 Written Scandal
Third-up here, the Peter Snowden-trained galloper ticks the right boxes that suggest she can play a role in the outcome of this event.
Last start, the Written Tycoon mare came off an unplaced first-up effort at Rosehill when she found her best form by taking out a BM64 over 1200m at Wyong.
Drawn wide, she settled back in the field to the turn before tracking wide as they straightened and in the run home, finished too strong for them, going on to claim victory on the line.
Stepping-up to BM72 grade here, she returns to city class company as well and drops 2kgs as she draws better in gate five and maps to settle mid-field or better with Tom Sherry aboard for the first time.
Already a winner when third-up and a two-time winner on rain affected tracks, the four-year-old looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 7: No.2 Kenmare Bay
The Randwick-based galloper is second-up here and looks set to be there at the finish of this event.
Last start, the English-sired gelding resumed off a 14-week spell in style when he claimed victory in a BM72 over 1550m on the Kensington circuit at Randwick.
From gate nine (of 10), Dylan Gibbons settled him back in the field before tracking wide on the turn, then finishing strongly out-wide, he overpowered them and arrived in time to grab the gold medal in the race.
Meeting similar company here over the same trip, he draws well in gate four and maps to settle in the back half of the field with Anna Roper as the new pilot.
A track specialist here, boasting two wins and as many runner-up finishes, he is also a winner when second-up and with three victories on wet tracks as well, conditions look ideal for him to claim another win in this contest.
