Rosehill Blackbookers and horses to follow from July 18

The Chris Waller-trained colt was having his second race start on Saturday where he missed the jump and settled two lengths last of the nine runners where he remained to the turn, then on straightening, Sam Clipperton kept him hard-up along the fence before working him into the race and over the final 200m, finished best to grab first prize in a last to first effort.

He looks a promising type who can go on with it from here.

Wearing number 19 saddlecloth, the last emergency in the race gained a start and was first-up since February where he really drew some attention by taking out this event.

Will Stanley settled him mid-field one off the fence to the turn, then came off heels and finished best out wide and raced away with it, putting 2.5 lengths on them over the line.

Already a winner when second-up, he appears to have returned at the top of his game so it might pay to stick with him for a couple more yet.

The Taree-based gelding resumed on Saturday after 18 weeks off the scene and turned plenty of heads with his whirlwind finish in this event.

Shannen Llewellyn settled him mid-field one off the fence to the turn, then after being held-up and buffeted to the 200m mark, finally got clear and stormed home to miss the main prize by a whisker on the line, taking home the silver medal.

Fitter now for that outing, the Graff three-year-old can only improve off that effort and is well worth following for a few more runs in this preparation.
