Belmont racing takes place on Saturday, September 5 with an 8-race program set down for the Belmont racetrack.

The Michael Grantham-trained galloper is second-up here and looks well placed here for back-to-back success in this event.

Last start, the Shooting to Win gelding resumed after 18 weeks off the scene and came back firing when he claimed his first win in a 1200m Maiden on this track.

William Pike settled him mid-field to the turn before crossing heels and straightening as the widest runner, ran home strongly to take home the gold medal, crossing the line a length clear in the end.

Progressing in grade here, he draws nicely in gate four and maps to settle near mid-field with Pike in the saddle again.

Fitter for that first-up win and now a track and trip winner as well, he looks a genuine contender in this contest.

Race 5: No.3 The Rocket

Team Casey saddle-up The Rocket here who is in top-shelf form this time in and should take plenty of beating in this event.

Last start, the Toronado gelding came off a big maiden win when he franked that effort by taking out strong Class 3 Hcp, here over 1400m.

Sent out the odds-on favourite, Natika Riordan had him leading on settling to the turn, then in the run home, found an extra gear and simply ran them off their legs, winning by more than two lengths on the line.

This looks no harder where he draws wide in gate 10 (of 12) and maps to push forward and cross to lead them again with Chris Parnham back for the ride after steering him to that big maiden win two starts back.

At the top of his game after three starts back now, he should be at his peak for this and will prove hard to run down in this contest.

Race 6: No.5 Silent Diva

The Team Williams-trained galloper is in great touch of late and lines up here looking a major player in this event.

Last start, the Alabama Express mare claimed her second career win when she took out a One Metro Win Hcp, here over 1400m.

Clint Johnston-Porter settled back in the field to the turn before tracking wide to be the widest runner on the turn, then stormed home to grab the gold medal in the race.

Johnston-Porter retains the ride where the mare draws ideally in gate two and maps to do no early work as she settles back in the field in search of a trail.

Facing Rating 66+ company here, she is already a track and distance winner here and with a clear run to the line again, the four-year-old should prove hard to hold out in this contest.
