We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for  Bathurst racetrack.

Race 4: No.2  Comic Culture

The Rob Potter-trained galloper is in career-best form this time in and looks set to go on with it in this event.

Last start, the Capitalist gelding made it three-straight top-two finishes when he beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp over 1400m at Grafton.

Alysha Collett had him box-seating on settling before coming off the leader’s heels on the turn, then in the run home loomed as the likely winner but found one a little better on the day and had to settle for second prize in the end.

Drawn well in gate six, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen and boasting previous success on the gelding, Damon Budler returns for the ride.

The blinkers come off today and at his peak, he will take beating in this contest.

Race 5: No.2  Like Lukey

Todd Smith saddles-up Like Lukey here who drops sharply in grade and looks set to figure in this event.

Last start, the Denman mare wasn’t disgraced when finishing fourth in a BM82 Hcp over 1600m at Tamworth.

Grant Buckley settled her fourth on the fence to the turn before coming off heels and in the run home, she never stopped chasing but found the placegetters a little too strong on the day.

Coming back to BM66 opposition today, she draws wide in gate 12 but maps to drop back and settle near the tail of the field with Izzy Neale as the new pilot.

Already a two-time winner at the 1800m, this looks an easier task for her and with a trouble-free run, the five-year-old can figure in this contest.

Race 7: No.1  De Joker

The Angus Stewart-trained galloper is in good touch after three starts back and ticks enough boxes here to suggest he can give this event a real shake today.

Last start, the Anders gelding came off a huge Maiden win (6.5 lengths) when he finished a close-up third in a BM58 Hcp over 1100m at Dubbo.

From mid-field early, Jacob Stiff worked him into the race approaching the turn before tracking wide where he finished strongly to grab the minor prize, beaten half a length on the line.

The step-up to the 1300m looks ideal for him at this stage of his preparation where he gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to settle mid-field on the fence with Braith Nock aboard for the first time.

Fourth-up and at his peak today, a clear passage to the post should see him there at the finish of this contest.
