Ascot Racing

Ascot racing takes place on Saturday, October 19, with a 9-race program set down for Ascot racetrack.
  • Race 2: No.4  In Good Order
  • Race 3: No.3  Grand Reserve
  • Race 4: No.8  Bohemian Diamond
  • Race 6: No.3  Bondi Plunge

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for  Ascot racetrack.

Race 2: No.4  In Good Order

Locally-trained by Daniel Morton, In Good Order is high-flying this time in and looks set to break his Ascot hoodoo in this event.

Last start, the American Pharoah gelding made it back-to-back wins when he comfortably accounted for a BM66 over 1600m at Belmont.

Regular rider, Chris Parnham was aboard securing his fourth win on the gelding as he steered him to victory by more than a length that day while carrying 60kgs.

He steps-up to BM72 company here with Parnham sticking with him for this assignment as he draws the outside gate (8) and maps to cross and settle near mid-field.

In career-best form this preparation, he has the runs on the board to break through for his first Ascot win here.

Race 3: No.3  Grand Reserve

Another from the Morton stable is Grand Reserve who is yet to miss a podium finish in three starts this preparation and looks well placed here to continue that trend.

Last start, the Maschino gelding was third-up when he finished third over the mile at the Belmont track.

Chris Parnham has been aboard for past couple of starts and sticks with him here where he draws wide in gate nine but has the early gate speed to cross and settle in the first half-dozen.

Already a two-time winner at the track, he should be at his peak for this after three runs back and boasting good form since his return, he can figure in this contest.

Race 4: No.8  Bohemian Diamond

Daniel Morton saddles-up Bohemian Diamond here who is unbeaten in two starts this time in and only has to overcome the wide gate to be a serious chance of victory in this event.

Last start, the Maschino mare came off a huge maiden win at Belmont when she then took on Class 1 company at the same track and destroyed them, winning by three lengths over the line.

Chris Parnham was aboard on both occasions and remains in the saddle here for this assignment.

She draws gate 11 (of 13) here but her early gate speed has her crossing to settle in the first half-dozen which puts her in the firing line.

There is plenty of upside with the four-year-old mare and winning form is good form.

With a trouble-free run here, she can bring up the hat-trick in this contest.

Race 6: No.3  Bondi Plunge

We stick with Daniel Morton as he lines-up Bondi Plunge here who is three starts back from a 17-week absence and boasting nine-straight top-three finishes, he looks set again to keep the trend going in this event.

Last start, the Bondi mare was shooting for the hat-trick (of wins) when she finished third at Belmont over 1200m.

Sent out favourite for the third consecutive time, Chris Parnham was aboard and had the mare in the box-seat but she was unbale to match it with them in the run home, having to settle for the minor prize that day.

From gate seven, she maps to settle mid-field or better with Steven Parnham as the new pilot for this assignment.

Labelled a track  specialist, she has one win and no less than six minor placings from her eight starts here.

She has been a real punter’s favourite to date and with a trouble-free run here, she is capable of bouncing back in this contest.
